Yes. Ametrine. It's a type of gemstone.
Ametrine = Amethyst + Citrine
It was introduced to me by Dr. E, a child's father, just yesterday. I've never heard of it before. Have you? It's interesting to me because I thought gemstones have their individual unique qualities and that they'll never fuse to become one. Today, Dr.E's wife, A brought up the topic again because she saw the Sapphire pendant on my neck (so did her husband yesterday). Hence, I can't help but to check Ametrine out.
Here are some details about this special gemstone: Ametrine. It is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It contains a bicolour of gold (from Citrine) and purple (from Amethyst). Ametrine comes from ONLY ONE MINE in the world. This mine is known as the ANAHI MINE in BOLIVIA. The mine first became famous in the seventeenth century when a Spanish conquistador received it as a dowry on marrying a princess named Anahi from the Ayoreos tribe. Ametrine was introduced to Europe through the conquistador's gifts to the Spanish queen.
Interesting? Here's another interesting fact. A told me that there's a diamond factory in Amsterdam which trades in diamonds on the professional market! My parents have always said that diamonds have no second hand value... hhHhMmMmm.... After doing some research, I speculate that the factory she mentioned is DE AMSTERDAMSE DIAMANTBEURS. Here, they actually sell you the diamonds, place them on the accessories according to your choice, and you can come back years later to trade in the diamonds. WOW! She also said that it's a MUST GO place for any women. Anybody has a big, big heart to sponsor me? XD
p/s: Can't wait to go to Amsterdam! (someday...)
